Overview of Role
We are seeking a creative Garden Designer to join our team. As a Garden Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing garden designs that meet the aesthetic and functional needs of our clients. Your role will involve meeting (virtually and/or on site) with design clients and leads to understand their vision, conducting physical site assessments, and producing detailed garden installation plans that incorporate native plants and other garden design elements. You will also interact with our installation teams to ensure that the final result meets the client design goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform outreach and set up initial consultations with pre-qualified design leads.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their garden design preferences and requirements.
- Schedule and conduct in person site assessments to evaluate soil, climate, and existing landscape conditions.
- Create detailed garden designs, including plant selection, layout, and other design elements.
- Communicate with garden installation teams to ensure project requirements are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Garden Designer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, native plants, landscape architecture, and design principles.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with leads, clients and install teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Degree or certification in garden design, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.

Lead Gardener
Now hiring Lead Gardeners for our 2026 Season!
Do you love being outdoors and want to work with a company that values nature, avoids the use of chemicals, and supports clean water, clean air and habitat for pollinators, birds and other wildlife? Want to work with a fun, supportive and hard working team of like minded individuals?
We are hiring Lead Gardener positions for the upcoming season. Seeking motivated, dependable, kind and physically active/strong to join our talented crew.
Tasks:
The Lead Gardener oversees and directs teams of 2 to 6 gardeners on job sites for commercial and residential clients across the Twin Cities metro. Gardening on site with your crew, you will ensure our work is performed to the highest standard in accordance with job specifications.
In addition to gaining valuable experience managing field staff, you will also be supported by our Project Managers and have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of clients. Gardening duties include planting, weeding, laying mulch, picking up supplies at the nursery, digging, leveling, moving plants, trimming bushes and small trees, laying stone paths and other similar tasks.
Timeline:
Our season will typically operate Mid-April through November.
We have fun, and work hard. We will train you and provide tools, uniform and company transportation to job sites.
MUST HAVE:
-Reliable personal vehicle to drive to the company office in Minneapolis
-Ability to handle lifting 25 lbs, bending, and working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
-1+ years of gardening experience and extensive knowledge of perennials, native plants and invasive species.
-A positive attitude, customer service focus and willingness to learn
-Management experience a plus
Terms:
-Full time (+30hrs/wk)
-Hourly position with performance bonuses and tips
-Monday - Friday work schedule, weather permitting
-Sick and Safe Time Policy
-Overtime for work over 40 hrs per week

Working in crews or usually 2-6 people, you will maintain and install gardens for a wide range of clients in the Twin Cities. Duties include planting, weeding, laying mulch, picking up supplies at the nursery, digging, leveling, moving plants, trimming bushes and small trees, laying stone paths.
Timeline:
Our season will typically operate Mid-April through November.
We have fun, and work hard. We will train you and provide tools, uniform and company transportation to job sites.
MUST HAVE:

-Ideally, you have some gardening experience. Should know common names of common perennials and shrubs.
-A positive attitude, customer service focus and willingness to learn

-Monday - Friday work scheduling, weather permitting
-Hourly, seasonal position with wages based on experience wioth performance pay and tips
